Step 1: Building the Main Structure

To start constructing the main structure of the project, follow these steps:

Materials needed:

  • 4 2x2 profiles with a 45-degree cut and a length of 23.13 inches
  • 2 2x2 profiles with a 45-degree cut and a length of 28.38 inches
  • 2 2x2 profiles with a length of 44 inches
  • 4 2x2 profiles with a length of 45 inches
  • 3 2x2 profiles with a length of 37.25 inches
  1. Prepare and organize your materials in advance to streamline the construction process.
  2. Assemble the lower frame by joining the two main profiles with a length of 45 inches. Use three profiles with a length of 37.25 inches to connect them. These profiles will provide stability and support to the structure.
  3. Attach an additional pair of profiles with the same characteristics as the main profiles to the ends of the main frame. This will help elevate the base of the structure and add height (refer to profiles No. 4 in the diagram).
  4. Place and fix the posts with 45-degree cuts at the ends of these profiles. These posts will contribute to the vertical structure of the project.
  5. In the middle of the main frame, position and secure the posts with a length of 44 inches. These posts will provide further support to the structure.

By completing this step, you will have successfully built the vertical structure, which will be ready to receive the roof structure and lateral coverings in the subsequent steps.

Step 2: Creating Internal Separation

In this step, we will construct a small wall to provide individual spaces for each pet. Follow these simple instructions:

Materials needed:

  • 2 2x2 profiles with a length of 37.25 inches
  • 7 1x4 profiles with a length of 19 inches
  1. Begin by fixing one of the 37.25-inch profiles to the bottom of the frame formed by the 44-inch profiles. This profile will serve as the base of the wall.
  2. Next, attach each of the 19-inch profiles vertically to create the wall structure. Space them evenly along the length of the frame, ensuring they are securely fastened.
  3. Complete the wall by securing the other 37.25-inch profile at the top, closing the frame and providing stability to the structure.

By completing this step, you will have successfully created a small internal separation, dividing the space into individual areas for each pet.

Step 3: Roof Structure

In this step, we will construct the roof structure using the following profiles:

Materials needed:

  • 1 2x2 profile with a length of 40.25 inches
  • 4 2x2 profiles with a length of 34.75 inches

Follow these simple instructions to complete this step:

  1. Begin by placing the 34.75-inch profiles symmetrically on the posts with the 45-degree cut. These profiles will give shape to the sloping roof. Repeat this process for both the front and back of the house, ensuring the profiles are securely attached.
  2. Next, position the 40.25-inch profile in the middle of the two inclined frames. This profile will serve as the central support to close the roof frame.

By completing this step, you will have successfully constructed the roof structure, providing a sloping design to prevent water puddles and snow accumulation.

Step 4: Covering the Front, Back, and Sides

In this step, we will cover the front, back, and sides of the double dog house using the following materials:

Materials needed:

  • 10 1x4 profiles with a length of 42.25 inches
  • 5 1x4 profiles with a length of 45 inches
  • 10 1x4 profiles with a length of 6.75 inches
  • 5 1x4 profiles with a length of 2.5 inches
  • 12 1x4 profiles with two 45-degree cuts

Follow these clear instructions to complete this step:

  1. Begin by covering the facade using the 6.75-inch profiles and the 2.5-inch profiles. These profiles will create a visually appealing front design. For the profiles with two cuts at 45 degrees, we recommend referring to the precise measurements in the 3D model of the project, which we have prepared for your convenience.
  2. For the sides, horizontally cover them using the 42.25-inch profiles. These profiles will provide stability and protection.
  3. Moving to the back part, start by covering it with the 45-inch profiles. Then, use the profiles with two 45-degree cuts to create an aesthetically pleasing finish. These profiles will enhance the overall appearance of the back structure.

By completing this step, you will have successfully covered the front, back, and sides of the double dog house, ensuring a snug and secure space for your furry friends.

Step 5: Flooring and Roof Covering

In this straightforward step, we will focus on the flooring and roof covering of the double dog house. Prepare the following materials before proceeding:

Materials needed:

  • 5 1x8 profiles with a length of 37.25 inches
  • 5 1x8 profiles with a length of 36.25 inches
  • 6 1x6 profiles with a length of 45 inches

Follow these clear instructions to complete this step:

  1. Begin by placing the 45-inch profiles as the floor part of the house. These profiles will create a sturdy and comfortable surface for your furry friends to rest on.
  2. Moving on to the roof, use the 37.25-inch and 36.25-inch profiles. Start by placing the larger profiles and overlap them with the smaller profiles. Refer to the diagram above for guidance, ensuring that the smaller profiles are positioned beneath the larger profiles. This overlapping arrangement will provide effective protection against rain and other elements.

By completing this step, you will have successfully installed the flooring and roof covering of the double dog house. This will create a cozy and sheltered environment for your beloved pets.

Step 6: Access Platform Construction

To create the access platform for the double dog house, follow these clear instructions using the specified materials:

Materials needed:

  • 2 2x2 profiles with a length of 25 inches
  • 1 2x2 profile with a length of 42 inches
  • 4 profiles of 1x6 with a length of 45 inches
  • Balusters: 1x2 profiles with a length of 36.17 inches, spaced 4 inches apart
  • 3 (1) 1x2 profiles with a length of 25.5 inches

Proceed with the following steps to construct the access platform:

  1. Create a frame for the access platform using the 2x2 profiles. Place the smaller 25-inch profiles at the ends and join them at the front with the larger 42-inch profile. This frame will serve as the base structure for the platform.
  2. Once the frame is in place, position the 4 profiles of 1x6 with a length of 45 inches on top of it. These profiles will form the floor of the access platform, providing a stable and secure surface for your dogs to enter and exit the house.
  3. Install the balusters by using 1x2 profiles with a length of 36.17 inches. Space them evenly, with a 4-inch gap between each baluster. The balusters will serve as safety rails, preventing your dogs from accidentally falling off the platform.
  4. Complete the baluster frame by closing it with 3 (1) 1x2 profiles with a length of 25.5 inches. This step will provide additional stability and structure to the baluster system.

By following these steps, you will successfully construct the access platform for the double dog house. The platform will provide a convenient and safe entrance for your furry friends. Refer to the previous diagram for visual guidance.

Step 7: Final Assembly

In this last step, you will bring together the two main components: the house and the access platform. Follow these clear instructions to complete your double dog house project:

  1. Take the completed access platform and position it in front of the house. Align it carefully to ensure a secure attachment.
  2. Attach the access platform to the front of the house using suitable screws or nails. Make sure to secure it firmly to ensure stability and safety for your dogs.
  3. Congratulations! With the attachment of the access platform, your double dog house project is now complete. Your dogs now have a comfortable, elegant, and beautiful home to enjoy.
  4. To ensure the longevity of your dog house, especially if it will be placed outdoors, it is recommended to apply a protective coating such as paint or enamel to the exterior. This will help protect the structure from the elements and extend its lifespan.

By following these steps, you have successfully built a space-saving and cozy double dog house for your beloved pets. They will now have a safe and comfortable shelter to call their own. Enjoy the satisfaction of completing this project and providing a loving home for your dogs!
