DIY Platform Bed Assembly Guide

How do you know which part is which from the parts list? Click on "Edit Design in 3D" button above and you'll be able to click on each part to see its name.

Step 1:

Let's begin by constructing the sturdy base that will provide excellent support for the bed and any weight it will bear. Although the design may appear intricate, you'll quickly discover how straightforward it is to build. In this initial step, gather the following materials:

  • 6 4x4 profiles, each measuring 61.25¨ in length.

To create a robust foundation, stack three of the 4x4 profiles on top of one another for each side of the bed. This arrangement ensures exceptional load-bearing capacity and durability. Rest assured, this step won't consume a significant amount of time, making it a relatively quick and straightforward process.

Step 2:

Undoubtedly, this step may present a bit more complexity as it involves assembling a puzzle of profiles. However, rest assured that it won't require a significant amount of time. Just follow these instructions and pay close attention to the materials you'll need:

  • 40 4x4 profiles, each measuring 5¨ in length.
  • 21 4x4 profiles, each measuring 80¨ in length.

The assembly process is the key challenge in this step. Your goal is to arrange the pieces in such a way that the 5¨ profiles rest on the bases you constructed in the previous step. These shorter profiles will provide essential support for the weight above. To execute this step correctly, follow these instructions:

  1. Begin by placing one of the 80¨ profiles on the main base.
  2. Then, position a pair of the shorter 5¨ profiles in place of the longer profile you just placed.
  3. Fix the pair of shorter profiles securely to the longer profile.
  4. Attach this assembly to the pair of bases you constructed earlier.
  5. Repeat this procedure, assembling one 80¨ profile at a time, ensuring each one is securely fixed to the shorter profiles and attached to the bases.
  6. Continue this process until the bases are completely covered by these assembled profiles.

By diligently following these steps, you will successfully define the base of the bed. While this step may pose a challenge, with attention to detail and careful execution, you'll achieve your desired result.

Step 3:Congratulations! You're in the final stretch of completing the bed. In this step, our focus shifts to the headboard construction. To proceed, gather the following materials:

  • 16 2x4 profiles, each measuring 26¨ in length.
  • 8 2x4 profiles, each measuring 31.5¨ in length.
  • 2 2x4 profiles, each measuring 29.25¨ in length.

Now, let's begin assembling the headboard. Follow these steps for optimal results:

  1. Position the 31.5¨ profiles in the middle of the vertical supports, which measure 29.25¨. Ensure that they are placed side by side, with a 1.5¨ gap between each profile.
  2. Start from the top, leaving a space of 1.75¨, and gradually secure each profile downwards, ensuring they are firmly attached.
  3. Once the intermediate profiles are securely fixed, proceed to attach the side profiles. Position them at the same distance as the intermediate profiles, maintaining a consistent spacing.

By following these instructions, you will successfully complete the frame of the headboard. Take your time to ensure the profiles are securely fastened, as this will contribute to the stability and overall appearance of the bed.

Step 4:Congratulations! You've reached the final step, where everything comes together beautifully. In this step, we will join the two sets of profiles you assembled earlier. By attaching the headboard to the middle of the base grill, you will complete the construction of your bed base. Get ready to showcase your craftsmanship and, most importantly, enjoy the comfort of your new and modern bed base. Rest well and enjoy your well-deserved relaxation on this wonderful piece of furniture.
