Instructions

A note before starting -

Please understand - the below diagrams are genuinely and carefully designed to help you navigate the build process. However, we don’t include specific recommendations for which tools, hardware, or products to use. These truly are “DIY” designs.

As such – a significant portion of the build-process will be up to you, the builder. So please know, there is no “right” or “wrong” way to assemble any of our designs! If you need to depart from the instructions, or rearrange things along the way, feel free to.

The only thing we ask: please be safe! And of course, there’s no shame in asking an expert for help or seeking guidance from your local professionals at any time.

And please: enjoy the process!

How to Make a Desk

How do you know which part is which from the parts list? Click on "Edit Design in 3D" button above and you'll be able to click on each part to see its name.

Step 1: Assembling the Main Frame

In this step, we will assemble the main frame of the desk. Gather the following materials:

  • 4 profiles of 1x10 with a length of 28 inches.
  • 2 profiles of 1x10 with a length of 50 inches.
  • 1 profile of 1x6 with a length of 52 inches.

To create the main frame, each 1x10 profile will be joined with another profile of the same characteristics. This will result in a wide surface on the top and sturdy supports on the sides, as depicted in the diagram above.

Additionally, we need to attach a support at the back of our desk's top section using the 1x6 profile (referred to as "profile 3" in the diagram). This support will enhance the stability and rigidity of the frame that we previously assembled.

By following these instructions, you will successfully assemble the main frame of your desk, providing a solid foundation for the rest of the project.

Step 2: Assembling the Desk Shelf

In this step, we will assemble the shelf of our desk. Gather the following materials:

  • 2 profiles of 1x10 with a length of 27 inches.
  • 3 profiles of 1x10 with a length of 16.25 inches.

To create the shelf, we will form a rigid frame. Place the 27-inch profiles at the ends of the frame, and connect them together using the 16.25-inch profiles. The 16.25-inch profiles should be positioned at the ends and in the middle of the frame.

By following these instructions, you will create the shelves that will serve as storage space for your stationery and other objects. This shelf adds functionality and organization to your desk, allowing you to keep your workspace tidy and efficient.

Step 3: Final Assembly

Congratulations! You've reached the final step of building your amazing desk. Great job! All that's left to do is join both groups we assembled previously and secure them in place. Specifically, you need to place the shelves on the bottom right side of the desk. Once you have completed this step, your desk will be fully assembled.

Take a moment to appreciate your hard work and enjoy your brand new desk. It's now ready to serve as your dedicated workspace for various activities. Whether it's studying, working, or pursuing your hobbies, this desk will provide a functional and personalized environment to enhance your productivity and enjoyment.

If you have any questions along the way, feel free to refer to the 3D model of this project. It can provide more specific details on measurements and help clarify any uncertainties that may arise from the diagrams.

Again, congratulations on completing this desk project! Embrace your new workspace and make the most out of it.
